Honestly! Really?!

Ok – I have had enough of the Obama is a terrorist and “I don’t know anything about Obama”  bull.

Last evening I had a discussion with a woman who I have never met until then and these gems came out of her mouth – “I just don’t trust him. He isn’t from this country and is Muslim. He went to Muslim schools.”

Madam first thing – By the second article of the Constitution, in order to run for presidential office, you have to be at least 35 years old and a natural born citizen of the United States. This is why Arnold Schwarzenegger can never run for president, he was not born in the US.

Second – if you do not know anything about Obama or McCain, for that matter, you are stupid. In today’s age, anyone can find the proper information with just a easy search online or in any newspaper, 24 hour news programs. You can’t turn around without hearing or seeing something about the presidential race. I STRONGLY suggest that before you vote, you educate yourself on the truth of the canidates and not the soundbites, mass emails of fear and various BS lines that The Weekly World News paper tells you. Batboy is not running for president.

For all those that say well I am voting for McCain because he is against abortion. Here is the dealio on that nugget. All four canidates : McCain, Obama, Palin, and Biden, do not agree with abortions. They believe that the federal government does not need to deal with it though. They all want to put the judgement on a state level. So for all those that have not started looking into your State officials, start reading on them, because they are the ones that are going to change your ideals on abortion. Not the people running for Pres and VP.

Now to the Muslim statement. First, I am sorry that people that are Muslim get thrown into the radical side of it. Yes, I claim a Christian faith but I do not associate with bible beaters and Neo Christians. They are a danger to my faith. They are no different than the suicide bomber that claims to be doing his faith good.

But Obama is not Muslim. Obama lived in Indonesia as a child, from 1967 to 1971, with his mother and stepfather and has acknowledged attending a Muslim school. He was 6 to 10 years old. Attending a Muslim school in Indonesia is like attending a public school in the US.

People associating Obama with Bill Ayers is also stupid. Yes, Bill Ayers did some bad things during late 60’s. And yes Obam worked with him on committees in Chicago. Comparing the relationship is very similar to this : I had a friend who shot and killed another person when he was in his teens. I developed a friendship after the fact. This does not make me want to kill people. I also have another friend that is anti government. He yells it to the world. His actions do not make me that way. Claiming that association makes you as guilty, is an insult to free will and the common sense that should be instilled in us all. More people should use their common sense. Look at your own life and the people that you have associated yourself with. Does that make you like them?

Gov. Palin associates with the AIP, Alaskan Independance Party. They want to remove themselves from the US. Does this quote from Joe Vogler suggest someting bout Palin? – “I’m an Alaskan, not an American.” – http://www.akip.org

I am not saying to vote for Obama. I am just wanting your vote to be true to you. Not by what a email or 30 second ad claims.

Gosh Darn You

Honestly, who is tired of hearing Sarah Palin try to be cute? With the US government in the crap hole that Bush has left us in, I feel that the American people deserve a little respect. The constant “darn it” and “gosh” slang is reducing the situation to a kiddie pool of politics.

Who is she fooling? She can play pretty princess, but when will she speak her own words? All I hear is the same “maverick” and “Washington outsider” lines. Say something real Sarah! It is awesome that you got the chance to run for VP. But you need to take the idea and job seriously and stop fueling SNL and Tina Faye with obvious blunders.

The Debate 1.0

9:00pm - Obama came out swinging right away. McCain is just repeating what Obama has said so far. Is this his plan?

9:15 – So far McCain has not answered a question with a proposal for change. He claimed that Montana used $3Mill for the study of DNA of Grizzly Bears. He looked at this as a bad pork barrel spending earmark. His own running mate, Palin, has used $3Mill on the mating habits of Crabs.

Senator, if you damn one you have to damn them all.

9:20  – Obama just cut John off. “Oh no he didn’t!”

9:30 – McCain is giving an anger laugh. Obama is getting heated. I love a good fight

Obama needs to know that we recieve more oil from Canada than the Middle East.

They have both said that we need to cut spending. McCain has a plan. He promises it. But does not say what it is.

Obama is slipping at 9:35. But is coming back with #’s of certain programs that are in need to be cut. Facts are good instead of vague observations.

10 Billion in Iraq and a 700 Billion Surplus that mightt be going to countries that hate us. Wow! I hate the current government – give me a cool million.

9:40 – Where is this 700 Billion coming from? We owe $500 Billio to China. Don’t you think they are goig, “HEY, where is our cut?”

9:43 – Oooooh foreign policy. Vietnam – lets count the POW remarks – 0 – Way to go McCain!

If we have been on a plan that has succeded and have appointed a General that has made it suceed, than why is that General Paytreous(sp) has said that it is not looking good.

WOW! Obama gives a one two  punch to McCain on Iraq.

Samuel Adams Octoberfest is a damn good beer. McCain is left handed.

WOW! Capture and KILL Bin Laden. That is an amazing thing to say Obama! That is a direct response to the statement by the McCain camp that says that Obam wants to read terrorists their rights. KA-POW!

McCain claims that Obama does not know the difference between tactic and stragetic(sp). Obama then says that placing more troops in Iraq than Afghanistan was a stragetic mistake. Proving that he does know the Webster meaning of the word.

Alot of things have been said and I have been yelling at the TV instead of typing.

McCain is not even looking at Obama. That is awesome. Here is a sidenote – Obama’s smile reminds me of my friend Ryan Finley.

10:09 – McCain wants more NATO allainces to go into Iran. Even though he did not say that directly. By claiming that he would get help with the French, England, etc.  He then proposed a NATO initative to deal with Iran.

Let’s have tea with Iran – “Hell no”, Obama says. He brings in words from the old Bush administration and joins his words to reach both parties. Interesting choice of words and language.

Certain countries, though, feels that with Russia invading Georgia is no different than us going into Iraq.

McCain and Obama swinging, zinging and constant interupting each other! Yes, John, we get it you are old and have been in the government longer. But look at your record.

This has been the best debate in over 12 years! YAHOO!

4 Beers down – I am ready to watch Keith on Countdown.

What?

Time is a precious thing in todays world. Everyone wishes for more or less depending on the situation. For myself, I wish to bottle it. Maybe Jim Groce is right.

I would bottle this uncertainity and watch it float away in the ocean.

Tonight I have had a truth brought upon my life. – What the hell am I doing? What am I wanting to prove? Music has been so huge in my life and now the one form that I am so familiar with is on the brink of changing members, sound, maybe shutting down.

I hate this feeling. One of the best drummers I have ever played with is leaving the group. He wants to go back to school and to his family in Raleigh. I can’t be mad at him, I am proud that he is making changes. My singer is onthe fence with life as well. He does not want things to continue the way they are with the band. I don’t either. I feel that business needs to be taken care of  . . but . . .

The back of my head continues to buzz with this phrase “What if it were gone?”

For some, the leaving of a band or separation of a band might seem silly. I assure you all that it is not.

A band is a very dysfunctional family that will go out of their way to put themselves in the worst conditions that life has to offer. We do this because of the stage. We do this because the idea of playing music for the public is so strong that we itch when we are down for a couple weeks.

When you join a band, you marry the other bandmates. You share a part of your life with those people, that no one gets to. When problems arise, they are real and they hurt.

SO why do I do it? I don’t know anymore. I don’t know what I want anymore. The idea of laying down something that I have put 110% into forthe past 3 years makes me vomit. I get sick with the thought. But the thought of starting again with a new drumer and possible sound makes me sick as well.

I hate this time of uncertainity.

At 35 years, I thought I would be at a different stage in life. Sure I am where I feel I need to be job wise, marriage wise. But inthe dream catagory  – I am a little slim. When and how does one close a chapter without regret?

Is this book of my life closing? A little cramatic, sure, but it is a divorce in a sense. Hell, you end up splitting up the stuff in the end.

It is almost as if I am not playing bass, what the hell am I doing? I honestly do not know what I woul do with the free time. When does one realize that they have to walk away?

GOD I hate this feeling.

Start tearing the old man down

My wife and I went and saw Counting Crows on Monday night. Maroon 5 was there as well, but lets focus on the Crows.

 

They truly love what they do. When Adam (singer) looked into the crowd he had such a look of love in his eyes for the crowd. It was inspiring. It told me know to appreciate everything that people do for you and take pride in what you do on a daily basis. 

 

I was talking with a friend of mine and he was telling me that his girlfriend feels that he needs more motivation. I asked him if he was happy and he said yes. So that told me that his motivation was his happiness.

 

Just because it seems as though you are doing nothing, as long as you are happy, stay motivated to continue that. Doing nothing can be the motivation in life. It often takes a lot of motivation to do nothing. 

 

I have learned many lessons in my years on this dusty planet. The main thing that keeps coming back is to find your joy and happiness. Sometimes you have to be quiet and listen, you will hear it. Un-clutter your thoughts and listen to what your body and heart is telling you.

Sleep?

I wish I could sleep well. I lay in bed and my mind doesn’t stop. Too many designs or songs going through my head! 

 

I need the sleep though. I can tell a difference in my body during the day.

Today is a good day. Except for that Blossman thing.

Blossman Gas – What the Hell?!

So today I have been sitting at the house waiting on Blossman Gas to show up and get their tank. I canceled my service with them for two reasons 1. They are idiots and 2. they are idiots.

I was told that they would be here on Friday, which is today. You see how this story is going.

So I call them up and they have all the information wrong. Telling me that they were coming next Wednesday instead of today. They didn’t have the common sense to call before hand and tell me this.

They are idiots. Time wasting, overpriced morons. I feel sorry for any one that works for the company.
